Documentary on the battle for San Pietro which saw newly reformed Italian Forces working with the Allies for the first time. They suffered appalling losses in what quickly became a fight of epic proportions. The town was ultimately destroyed. Today, the new town of San Pietro is about one and a half kilometres from the ruins of the original site.
