The Black Hen (UK-import)
Nepalese drama co-written and directed by Min Bahadur Bham. Set in 2001 during the Nepalese Civil War, the film follows youngsters Prakash (Khadka Raj Nepali) and Kiran (Jit Bahadur Malla) as they try to track down the missing hen given to Prakash by his sister. In the northern village of Mugu, the pair desperately try to find the hen they raised together so they can make money by selling its eggs, unaware of the fragile ceasefire in place around them.
