Caleb Deschamel directs this tale of a magician's son who tries to follow in his father's footsteps. Leaving home to join the magic act of his uncle Burke and aunt Sibyl (Gabriel Dell and Joan Hackett), teenager Danny Masters (Griffin O'Neal) soon finds himself in trouble when he becomes involved with Stu (Raul Julia), the son of corrupt local major Leon Quiñones (Desi Arnaz). Danny is confronted with the circumstances surrounding his father's untimely death; facts that had previously been kept from him.
