The first five episodes of the Canadian children's TV series that led to the sequels, 'Degrassi Junior High', 'Degrassi High' and 'Degrassi: The Next Generation'. This was the first children's drama that dealt seriously with the issues facing young people of the 1980s. It captured the imaginations of audiences far beyond Canada as it followed the trials and tribulations of its characters as they progressed through childhood and adolescence. Episodes comprise: 'Ida Makes a Movie', 'Cookie Goes to the Hospital', 'Irene Moves in', 'Noel Buys a Suit' and 'Lisa Makes the Headlines'.
