The King Of Escape (UK-import)
French comedy written and directed by Alain Guiraudie. Ludovic Berthillot plays the 43-year-old homosexual Armand who begins to question his sexuality as part of a larger midlife crisis. Fed up with the limited gay scene of his small village in the south of France, the popular tractor salesman is given a leave of absence to sort out the numerous issues contributing to his adverse behaviour. When he rescues a young girl from an intimidating teenage gang, 16-year-old Curly (Hafsia Herzi) falls for her rescuer, presenting Armand with the perfect opportunity to test his love for the opposite sex. The pair's relationship draws the unwanted attention of the local commissioner (François Clavier) and Curly's irate father (Luc Palun), forcing them to go on the run in the surrounding countryside in search of privacy.
