The National Museum in Oslo - the construction of a landmark
Since the construction site on Vestbanen (West Line) opened in March 2014, photographer Ken Opprann has followed the building of the new National Museum, taking over 115,000 photographs documenting all phases of the project. The book The National Museum in Oslo presents a selection of these photographs, as well as interviews with many of the people who were involved in the project, from architects and project managers to contractors and subcontractors to the construction workers who faced the daily challenges along the way. The result is a collection of pictures and a book of architecture like no other - a volume that will enable the reader to see the new National Museum in an entirely new way. Ken Opprann (b. 1958) studied photography at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. He has won several Norwegian and international prizes and published several books, including Vi bygde operaen (2008), Tro. Mennesker i møte med sin Gud (2009) og 500 sekunder fra solen (2019).
