Coming-of-age comedy drama set in New York in the sweltering, hip-hop-infused summer of 1994. Luke Shapiro (Josh Peck), a lonely teenager who is spending his last summer before college selling marijuana on the streets, forms a friendship with Dr Jeffrey Squires (Ben Kingsley), an unorthodox psychiatrist who proposes that he and Luke trade weed for therapy sessions. Things get complicated when Luke develops a crush on classmate Stephanie (Olivia Thirlby) - who happens to be Dr Squires's step-daughter.
