The Woman In Black (1989) (UK-import)
Victorian ghost story. Upon his arrival in the village of Crythin Gifford, solicitor Arthur Kidd (Adrian Rawlins) meets with local superstition and prejudice on a grand scale. While attempting to administer the estate of the late Alice Drablow, Kidd keeps seeing a vision of a lady in black who, legend has it, has placed a curse upon the village. After he himself is cursed for saving a gypsy child, Kidd makes the acquaintance of local landowner Sam Toovey (Bernard Hepton), and decides to get to the bottom of the mystery.
