There's Something About Mary/Night At The Museum/Dodgeball (UK-import)
Triple bill featuring three Ben Stiller comedies. In 'There's Something About Mary' (1998), in 1985, high school senior Ted Stroehmann (Ben Stiller) gets a date with gorgeous classmate Mary Jenson (Cameron Diaz) after rescuing her mentally handicapped brother, Warren, from a bully. The date is ruined when Ted catches his penis in his fly zip and has to be rushed to hospital. Thirteen years on, Ted is still obsessed with Mary, and hires private detective Pat Healy (Matt Dillon) to find her. Healy tracks Mary and Warren to Miami, but falls in love with her himself and tells Ted that she is now an overweight mother of four. Undeterred, Ted makes his own way to Miami, but soon finds that he has plenty of competition for Mary's attentions.'Night at the Museum' (2006) stars Stiller alongside Robin Williams, Mickey Rooney, and Dick Van Dyke. Larry Daley (Stiller) is a kind-hearted dreamer who always knew that he was destined for greatness, he just never quite knew how. None of his ideas or inventions has panned out, so with a heavy heart, he takes a regular job as a lowly graveyard-shift security guard at the Museum of Natural History in order to provide a more stable life for himself and his ten-year-old son. His first night on the job, however, he finds that guardianship of the museum is far from stable. At nightfall an Egyptian spell brings the artifacts and wax figures to life. With Attila the Hun charging to war through the hallways, the diorama miniatures embroiled in a deadly feud, and a two-ton Tyrannosaurus Rex nagging to play fetch, Larry turns to a wax replica of President Roosevelt (Williams) for a little advice on keeping things intact. In 'Dodgeball - A True Underdog Story' (2004) Stiller and Vince Vaughn star as rival gym owners who compete against each other in a Las Vegas dodgeball tournament. Sweet, underachieving Peter LaFleur (Vaughn) is the proprietor of Average Joe's, a run-down gym with an oddball clientele. Despite its shabby exterior, the gym catches the eye of competitor White Goodman (Stiller), the power-hungry and aspirational owner of the gleaming, ultra-modern Globo Gym. Staging a takeover of Average Joe's looks to Goodman like a doddle - until the attorney from the foreclosing bank, Kate Veitch (Christine Taylor) is unexpectedly won over by Peter's boyish charms and decides to do all she can to save his gym from Goodman's clutches.
