The Nightwatchman's -- aka Tom Morello's acoustic alter-ego -- EP Union Town is a new studio recording of eight pro-union songs that include three Morello originals, as well a full, uncensored version of Woody Guthrie's “This Land Is Your Land” (including the more radical, often censored verses). All proceeds from the sale of Union Town benefit the America Votes Labor Unity Fund. The EP is also a precursor to World Wide Rebel Songs, the third full-length form Morello as the Nightwatchman. Morello was inspired to record the EP after performing in Madison, Wisconsin in support of the state's workers, who lost most of their collective bargaining rights under a controversial law passed by the state's legislature spearheaded by governor Scott Brown.
